Slope Racing Locations

The SCSR league is held at multiple locations throughout Southern California. Our "range" includes Whitaker to the north, Tehachapi to the east, San Diego to the south, and several coastal sites to the west. We occasionally compete with the Northern California Slope Soarers at Los Banos in Central California also, but these are not considered "local" events for season points.

  Beacon Ridge Info Approx. 1hr North of LAX, off the Templin Hwy, opposite side of Whitaker.  Great for NE winds
  Cajon Pass Info Big Big Big Air, west facing slope only. Home of the PSS Festival
 
Carlsbad
(Airport Rd)
 Info Beach site.  Small lift band, great for head to head slope racing! Landing is simple.  Access is excellent, and view is great.
  Grass Mountain Info San Franciscito Canyon route is now open! Smooth south facing big air slope. Terrific landing area.  Park at the slope face. Elevation 4600 feet - check for low clouds!
  Little Mountain Info Great little Santa Ana slope (East wind). Good landing area, drive to the top!
  Los Banos Info Great place to swim, fish, camp.  Can also support gliders on occasion :-).  Best landing zone in California
  Parker Mountain Info Huge Lift, tough landing, DYNAMIC SOARING
  Pt. Fermin Info Big Smmooootthhh lift, decent landing, beautiful views, fast air!
  Temple Hill Info Medium slope, steady reliable medium lift.  SW to NW winds
  Tehachapi Info (Convict Slope) As close to the Swiss Alps as we can get.
  Torrey Pines Info Nude Sunbathers, ocean breezes, occasional wind.  West facing only
  Vincent Info HUGE LIFT + Dynamic Soaring.  Requires good physical conditioning!
  Whitaker Info Big Lift, Big Slope, Old CSR site for Unlimited Class Man-on-Man races.
 
  Whitewater Info Desert sloping at it's best, right in front of the big Windmills.  Easy access, easy landing.  Works great for South to SW winds.  Wear Goggles!  Bring Water!
 
  White Point Info Beautiful coastal cliff side slope site in SoCal
