SCSR General Policies
Territory: The SCSR league is held at multiple locations throughout Southern California. Our "territorial range" includes Whitaker/Grass Mtn to the north, Tehachapi to the east, San Diego to the south, and several coastal sites along the west (excluding the Channel Islands). We occasionally compete with the Northern California Slope Soarers at Los Banos in Central California, and Mammoth Lakes in the Sierra Mountains, but these are not considered "local" events and do not count towards SCSR season points.
Insurance: All participating pilots MUST be current AMA members, and insured as such. Specific AMA Event insurance is not normally needed except for special major events. AMA Site insurance is not normally required unless specifically requested by a property owner.
Site Changes: The SCSR Calendar sets the date and suggests the location for the event. It is the CD's task to confirm that the listed location offers a reasonable chance of flyable conditions on that date. The date is not subject to change; however, the CD has the discretion to move the event for more advantageous weather conditions or because of site accessibility issues.
Shared Use of Slope: SCSR actively works to share all of our slopes with "local" pilot groups. No event shall completely shut down a slope to locals. Should locals desire to fly on the same slope on race day, time slots sufficient for the purpose shall be provided by the event CD for local Fun Flying and/or DS'ing.
Announcements/Discussions: SCSR maintains a Yahoo based electronic newsgroup as the formal discussion forum for all club related news, announcements, discussions,
and community building. The newsgroup is at this address: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCalSlopeRacing/
In addition to the newsgroup, SCSR maintains a website with the racing Calendar, Rules, Contact info, Policies, etc… This website URL is: http://www.socalsloperacing.com.
